History of Viking Yachts

Some VIKING Yacht & Outboard Motor Owner's Manuals PDF are above the page.

The Viking Yachts brand appeared in 1964 when Bob & Bill Healey bought the small manufacturer of 37-foot sports and fishing boats Peterson-Viking Yachts in New Jersey and began to service, repair and upgrade the boats.

The company constantly grew until 1990. This decade has presented many businesses with an unpleasant surprise in the form of a luxury tax.

So Viking reduced its staff from 1,500 to 80 people. To keep the company afloat, the brothers invested their money.

In parallel, Bob launched a powerful tax cancellation campaign, which paid off in 1993. After that, the shipyard quickly regained its lost positions and even overtook many competitors.

During its existence, the shipyard launched more than 4,000 semi-custom yachts, becoming the world leader in the manufacture of boats with fiberglass hulls.

Viking Yachts production facilities are located throughout America: the main plants are located on the Bass River in New Grent, New Jersey, and on the Mullika River near Atlantic City.

The total area of Viking Yachts exceeds 74 thousand square meters. The company also placed a service center in Florida with wide piers and more than a hundred experienced employees.

The Viking group of companies also includes Palm Beach Towers, which designs and manufactures add-ons for sports phishers, and Atlantic Marine Electronics, a multimedia solutions developer.
